Who We Are
Greetings from the 5 of us; Steve, Pete, Pam, Boon & Karen. We are a group of working
dog lovers who met on one of the forum in the The Netherlands.
We make up a team of people who just seem to "click"; mixing a vast array of working
dog knowledge with tongue-in-cheek, if not- side-splitting humor!
It is a virtual toss up for the top clowning position; but when it comes to working dog
knowledge, the troops are serious, and ready to converse about their favorite subject; the DDR & Czech working GSD lines.

Steve Lino
Steve Lino of Vom Linmarc is the senior member,
touting a 3 time competition run at the WUSV in 1987 (St. Gallen, Switzerland),
1989 (Maribor, Yugoslavia), and 1990 (Warrme, Belgium).
He won the 1989 North American Schutzhund III Championship, Southeast Regional,
and Mid-East Regional Schutzhund III events. Steve Lino and his dog then competed in
the largest trial ever in the world, Singer, Germany 1990 with entry 278 dogs from all
over the world. Being the youngest dog in the trial at just barely 2 years old and at
the Schutzhund 3 level going high protection in trial with 99 points,
The same dog 1 week later qualifying for the Nationals in 1990 Sacramento with
99-95-100 = 294, still the youngest dog in trial.
He has operated a Police Service Dog Training School, and is a recipient of the USA's
Sports Medal in gold. His credits are as long as your arm and you can read about them at
the link above.

Pete Paveley
Pete Paveley has been in the breed for a little over 30 years, showing dogs earlier on,
and attending the Sieger show in Germany twice. He has always had avid working dog
interests. He now prefers fewer dogs so he does not have to buy so much tripe for
training (our inside tripe jokes; refer to vom Domburgerland NL in the earlier days, the good
old days).

Pam Cyrene
Pam Cyrene began working in the sport around 1976 in Germany, with a member of the OG
Coburg. She trained most of her life with a German Breed Warden and dual
Customs Inspector for the Bundes Bahn; who also owned a dienst hund and kennel.
Returning to the US in 79, Pam worked alone until 1980 when she began training with the
Central Missouri Schutzhund Club (also the current president of USA, and formed the
first (2) Schutzhund Clubs in Iowa).
Her experience was further highlighted by translating for a weeklong seminar,
assisting a German working line judge. She is now acquiring foundation stock for
her kennel, Alte Ahnen, which means from the "old ancestors".
She says she has loved these dogs ever since she saw Rin Tin Tin and Bullet on TV.
Pam is a sweetheart, and my good friend.

Boon
Boon is from Penang, Malaysia, and carries the title of Solution Architect in
Information Technology (a mouth full). Boon has been interested in dogs all his life.
Because of his love and passion for dogs, he put together the very first Malaysian AKC RDO Day
(Responsible Dog Ownership Day) in Malaysia on 2003.
He also organized and launched the first Malaysian K9 Day on the 11th of January 2004.
Thanks to him, these 2 events are now held annually.
Aside from that, he started his interest in Schutzhund about 4 years ago, and after researching 2 years in Czech lines, he made his first purchase of Kamptried Bero, a Warkos Anrebri x Fella z PS son aka Bosco. He is his first working dog of 100% Czech lineage. Boon then extended his love and passion in the working GSD, and researched another 1.5 years prior to a second purchase of a DDR pup out of line 13 & 5. The sire of this female "Bruna" is the infamous "Boban" who we watched grow from a youngster, and finally (like all great dogs do) - made it to the USA! Her dam is Qina who you may find on the vom Domburgerland site.
Boon says both pups have different character, temperament and attitudes all together. He is now addicted to DDR & Czech Dogs! Better dogs than drinks I say.
(We appreciate Boon for his tremendous work on getting this site together; we could not have done it without him!)

Karen McLaughlin
Karen McLaughlin is my name, and I am a GSD researching fanatic. I thrive on the passion of hunting bloodlines and breeders world - wide. I was previously from law enforcement in New Mexico. I was in the State Police Academy in 1992 and moved to the Las Cruces Police Department Evidence Section after I reportedly made an attempt to shoot my fire arms instructor. This is not completely true; the Smith & Wesson 45 was just to heavy to pull up to the target (this part is true). My initial aim was to become a K9 handler, but the State Police did not use dogs on patrol and still don't. The experience was one I shall never forget, and I am left with great respect for these "Men in Black". Yet, I am disappointed by the outdated traditions, as any intelligent K9 handler will tell you; the dog is the partner, and it is ludicrous to travel hundreds of miles of open road alone. I am completely PRO law enforcement, and PRO K9 in law enforcement.
After leaving the PD in 97, I bought 2 GSD pups to raise side by side. I wanted to compare the lines. These were 2 males, a VA sired pup, and the other out of the very special Alk vom Osterberg Quell, a DDR dog. This pup by the name of "Borg" began my keen interest in the DDR lines, and glued me to the computer for the next 8 years. During that time I have owned a Czech bitch, a DDR - East mix, an East - West bitch, and a line bred Kirschental male. Currently the Kirschental male is here at home. I am very open minded about GSD breeding, as long as the dogs produced are as functional as originally intended. The truth being few dogs remain that functional.
And so the 5 of us join to promote the preservation of the DDR & Czech breeds, attempting to give you an environment with serious content, and a dash of humor. We hope you will enjoy your visit.
