In a tree at our commercial kennel there are 3 peacocks building a nest.


After looking on line we learned that there is less than 1 % of white peacocks world wide.

That is pretty cool.I have never seen a white pecock before.I did not know there were even white pecocks.Are they wild there our some ones pets?

These are wild pecocks...there are a lot of wild ones in this part of Florida and there are also several people that have them for pets.

That's a good question Boon...but they did not say on the link we got on. They did did say that the white birds are more aggressive.

When i lived in Arkansas , one of the restaraunts had a whiye Peacock. Boy was it mean!!! It finally died and they had it stuffed. It was very beautiful but mean.

My grand parents used to keep peacocks, as well as assorted other game birds. The peacocks though were always free range as long as I can remember. The only feeding they did was to throw some cracked corn out on the back yard once in awhile.
Most of the time the birds were just out and about on the ranch someplace. My dad told me they'd eat one for Thanksgiving when he was a kid. Yeah my grand parents had quite a large brood to feed themselves.

Any how, it was always funny if some one strange stayed over night at the ranch. No matter how much you'd warn them that the birds make noise at night, they'd wake up alarmed because some women was screaming obviously being attacked out in the grove.
