The Kennel Parchimer Land was founded in 1979. The owner and breeder is Werner Schulz. Because of breeding German Shepherd for 30 years during East German (DDR) times, he has a lots of experiences about the bloodlines and about the philosophy that was followed. Nowadays he tries to save these very special bloodlines and tries to keep them alive as long as possible. He always says: "This type of shepherd is unique and anybody can be proud to own such a shepherd". Mr. Schulz got DDR Campion two times with Bodo vom Gräfental in 1979 and with Quenn vom Parchimer Land in 1986.


Regarding his breeding goals in 2000 his kennel had of course 100% DDR litters. One litter was out of Cliff vom Geraufer and Biene vom Felsenschloß.


So Iwo vom Parchimer Land was born on 9/10/2000. He is over Xito vom Baruther Land. He is part of the most famous DDR bloodline 13th which can mostly be found in DDR pedigrees today.


With 8 weeks Iwo was given to a fanatical sportsman called Harald Wulff. He grew up within his family. He trained Iwo together with his wife Birgit. Now Iwo is nearly 6 years old and one of the last 100% DDR males alive in the world.


Iwo is a typical DDR shepherd, good middle-sized. "He loves to work", says Mr. Wulff. He must be characterized by strong nerves and very good drives. "Working him under pressure is the best thing you can do", Wulff passing on. Furthermore Iwo has a good basic quickness which helps him during protection work.


He always does full grips. Not even a suggestion of fatigue on high temperatures. Iwo bribes with his consequent, fast and tight "Revieren" and dominant prolonged barking.


Nevertheless Iwo likes to work in all 3 sections. Because of his gorgeous ball drive it is easy to train him at all. Actually it is difficult to describe his temperament, maybe you have a possibility to see him working in the future. Above all he entails his drives, temperament, strong nerves and wonderful colour on his progeny. Hopefully we will admire more and more shepherds from DDR bloodlines like Iwo in the future.
